The Woman Who Died Standing Up

Directed by Rosa Coutinho Cabral, 2024

More than a fictional documentary about Natália Correia, “The Woman Who Died Standing Up” is a poetic casting of actors who straddle a film and a play. It takes place in places previously inhabited by Natália and now by these actors who help us unearth the myths, the ghosts, and the pain born from the life and work of Natália – one of the most important figures in Portuguese culture, literature, and politics, before and after the 25th of April.
