The First Time is a play about youth. A young man and a young woman seek refuge in a park, away from prying eyes, in order to discover one another for the first time.

However, what initially appears to be an intimate encounter ultimately takes on different contours.

Within a situation seemingly shaped by embarrassment and awkwardness, we come to realise that their intimacy—their relationship—is their true refuge.

Both stand before something greater, which they do not dare to confront.
