Commemorations of the 52nd Anniversary of the Carnation Revolution in Torres Novas

The Municipality of Torres Novas marks the 52nd anniversary of the Carnation Revolution with a series of initiatives celebrating the values of freedom, democracy, and civic participation.

The program begins at 10:30 a.m. with the raising of the national flag at Praça 5 de Outubro, followed by a street parade by the Sociedade Filarmónica União Matense to Teatro Virgínia, where the official commemorative session of Freedom Day will take place.

The session will feature the participation of the Choral Phydellius Musical Initiation Choir, with Carla Frias and Melany Miguel. The ceremony will be broadcast on the Municipality of Torres Novas YouTube channel and will include Portuguese Sign Language interpretation.

In the afternoon, at 4:00 p.m., a Popular Dance with Paula Ribeiro and Sílvia Alcobia will take place at Praça dos Claras. In the evening, at 9:30 p.m., Teatro Virgínia will host a concert by LaFontinha, with free admission, subject to prior ticket collection.
