Teatro da Cornucópia was one of Portugal’s most important theatre companies, from its foundation in 1973 until its closure in 2016.

Founded by Luís Miguel Cintra and Jorge Silva Melo, the company distinguished itself through its politically engaged theatre and its choice of an innovative repertoire.

Through archive footage, testimonies from some of the many people involved in the company’s history, and Cintra’s constant presence, this film traces its journey from its origins to its final days, revealing its cultural and political impact.
