The “Vila” Digital Commercial Neighbourhood is promoting the “Flavours of Figs and Nuts” Confectionery Competition, an initiative held as part of the 2026 39th National Nuts and Dried Fruits Fair.
The competition aims to promote local products from the municipality of Torres Novas, particularly figs and nuts.
Restaurants, pastry shops, bakeries and food retailers may participate, as well as associations and educational institutions based in the municipality of Torres Novas, provided that they are legally authorised to prepare and present the food products entered in the competition.
Each participant may submit one original sweet creation, in which figs and/or nuts must be used as the main ingredients.
Registration and submission of entries will take place from 1 to 15 September 2026.
Following an assessment and pre-selection stage, the finalist creations will be presented and assessed by a panel of judges on 3 October, during the National Nuts and Dried Fruits Fair.
Important dates:
1 to 15 September 2026 — Registration and submission of entries;
16 to 22 September 2026 — Assessment of entries and pre-selection of the sweet creations;
By 25 September 2026 — Notification of the decision to participants and announcement of the finalists;
3 October 2026 at 18:30 — Presentation of the sweet creations, assessment by the judging panel and awards ceremony, at the National Nuts and Dried Fruits Fair, Praça 5 de Outubro.
