International Youth Day

As in previous years, to mark International Youth Day, the Municipality of Torres Novas will organise a range of free activities for young people on 12 August, at Jardim das Rosas.

From 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, children and young people will be able to enjoy a variety of activities, including traditional games, children’s games, table football, face painting and glitter tattoos, archery, and several types of inflatable attractions.

International Youth Day is celebrated annually on 12 August, following a resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1999, in response to a recommendation made by the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth, held in Lisbon from 8 to 12 August 1998. Its main objectives are to raise international awareness of the challenges facing young people and to celebrate their potential as valuable partners in society.
