St. Dominic’s Gospel Choir

Praça 5 de Outubro welcomes St. Dominic’s Gospel Choir on Friday, 27 November, at 9.30 pm for a gospel concert as part of the Christmas programme.

The repertoire will consist mainly of Christmas songs, ranging from classics to more contemporary interpretations, inspired by the African-American religious music tradition, promising an evening filled with the energy and festive spirit of gospel.

Founded in 2002 and based in Lisbon, St. Dominic’s Gospel Choir is considered one of Portugal’s oldest and largest gospel choirs. Under the direction of conductor João Castro, the number of singers varies according to the performance space. In 2022, the group surpassed 1,200 concerts over two decades of activity.

Suitable for ages 6 and over, the concert lasts 75 minutes. Admission is free.
