Mural Art Guide for the municipality of Torres Novas

The Municipality of Torres Novas has a mural art guide for the municipality (1974-2024), based on historical and documentary research and personal interviews. It aims to showcase existing urban art murals, as well as photographic records of others, now missing, created in the 1970s and 1980s.

This information is available digitally at https://murais.torresnovas.pt/ and can also be accessed through QR codes located next to the existing murals throughout the municipality. In this guide, the murals are divided by themes such as: post-April 25, 1944, the Blessing of the Cattle Festival, the school context, political initiatives, the Lata65 project, among others.

It is also possible to learn about the biographies of some of the main urban artists working in Torres Novas, as well as consult a map showing their locations.

There is also a paper edition of this itinerary, which can be purchased at the Gustavo Pinto Lopes Municipal Library, the Carlos Reis Municipal Museum and, soon, at the city’s bookstores.
