Arraial na Vila

The heart of Torres Novas is preparing to welcome the “Arraial na Vila” on 19 June, an initiative promoted by the “Vila” Digital District that promises to bring more life, entertainment and vibrancy to the city centre in a celebration dedicated to the Popular Saints festivities.

Largo Dom Diogo Fernandes de Almeida will host the event, dressed for the occasion to welcome an evening of community spirit, tradition and entertainment for all residents and visitors.

The Arraial is the result of the collaboration and involvement of local businesses within the District, which have played an active role in shaping this initiative by contributing ideas and proposals to make the historic centre more attractive, participatory and dynamic.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of food stalls, featuring the traditional grilled sardines, a charity raffle organised by a Social Solidarity Institution, the sale of traditional basil plants (“manjericos”) and several traditional games, all of which help create the festive atmosphere that characterises Portuguese popular celebrations.

Music will be one of the highlights of the event, with DJ Ruben Gameiro performing from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, providing a relaxed and festive atmosphere throughout the late afternoon. From 9:00 pm onwards, Xarepa Band will take to the stage, promising to keep the audience singing and dancing well into the night.

With the “Arraial na Vila”, the “Vila” Digital District aims to promote local commerce and transform the historic centre of Torres Novas into a space for gathering, tradition and entertainment, inviting the community to enjoy an evening marked by popular culture, gastronomy, music and social interaction.
