Puppet Show “Stories of April 25” with Maurício Rebocho and Versátil Ensemble

26 April 2026, from 10:30 to 12:30

In April, the Children’s Story Cycle continues to promote family reading at Biblioteca Municipal Gustavo Pinto Lopes and joins the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic on April 26 with a puppet show for all ages. Based on the story of the Carnation Revolution of April 25, 1974, the performance will explore its origins, events, and consequences.

With Zé Povinho as the central character, amusing situations and adventures unfold, solved with greater or lesser difficulty, always in defence of justice and freedom.

The puppets of Maurício Rebocho are joined on stage by six musicians from Versátil Ensemble, who accompany the story with live music, performing songs by Zeca Afonso, Adriano Correia de Oliveira and Fernando Tordo.

Starting at 10:30 am, this initiative is aimed at children aged 6 and over. Participation is free, but registration is mandatory through the provided link, with limited capacity.
