Teatro Maior de Idade, “Catarinas”

6 November 2026, from 21:30 to 23:30

The Teatro Maior de Idade group presents “Catarinas”. Directed by Nuno Pinheiro and Raquel André, the production is based on an adaptation of Tiago Rodrigues’s “Catarina and the Beauty of Killing Fascists”. It explores the family conflict sparked by the breaking of a tradition, questioning different perspectives on democracy and how it should be defended.

Raquel André is a performer, creator, teacher and researcher, while Nuno Pinheiro is an actor, creator and playwright who co-directs the Teatro em Formação project, which includes the Teatro Maior de Idade group.

“Catarinas” will also have a free performance for audiences aged over 65 on Thursday, 5 November, at 2.30 pm at Teatro Virgínia. The production will then be presented free of charge to this audience at three venues across the region: Centro Cultural de Vila Nova da Barquinha on 12 November; Centro Cultural Gil Vicente, in Sardoal, on 19 November; and Cineteatro Elisa Tavares Bonacho, in Golegã, on 26 November. All performances begin at 2.30 pm.

The performance for the general public lasts one hour and is suitable for ages 12 and over. Tickets cost €8.50, with discounts available.
