“My Husband’s Wife” is a comedy about Gil and Afonso, a couple living in Lisbon whose routine is disrupted when Afonso’s conservative father decides to visit him to meet his son’s supposed “wife”.

To keep up the lie that guarantees him monthly financial support, Afonso convinces his colleague Berta to pretend to be his wife. Amid misunderstandings, jealousy and hilarious situations, the charade quickly spirals out of control, giving rise to an entertaining satire about prejudice, acceptance and the social masks we create.
