What is Marketplace?

The Marketplace enables local sellers to sell their products through our platform, helping to promote trade in our town.

What you need to become a seller on Marketplace

• Be a Company or Sole Trader: To register as a seller, you must be a legally constituted entity or a sole trader with an active business.
• Ship directly to the end customer: Sellers are responsible for shipping their products directly to consumers.
• Bill the customer directly: Each seller must issue invoices directly to customers for purchases made on the platform.
• Ensure quality service: Excellence in customer service and satisfaction are essential. Sellers are expected to meet deadlines and guarantee quality products.
• Put the customer first: Always put the customer first, with personalised service and attention to their needs.
• Develop a long-term partnership: By joining the Marketplace, sellers become part of a community that values and promotes local commerce, with the aim of creating a sustainable and mutually beneficial relationship.

How can I register to sell on the Marketplace?

To register, simply fill out the form on our seller registration page. Our team will contact you to assist with the process.

What are the costs associated with selling on the Marketplace?

Subscription is free during the term of the ‘Digital Neighbourhoods’ programme. We do not charge commission on sales.

What kind of products can I sell on the Marketplace?

You can sell a wide variety of products, from handicrafts to food, as long as they comply with Marketplace guidelines and applicable legislation.

How does order acceptance work?

As a Seller, you have up to 24 hours to accept or decline an order after payment.

Who ships the orders?

The Seller is responsible for shipping orders.

What are the costs and shipping methods available?

Shipping costs and methods are the responsibility of the Seller.

What payment methods are accepted for the products I sell?

Os clientes têm à sua disposição a possibilidade de efetuar o pagamento das encomendas diretamente aos comerciantes.

Esta solução, irá possibilitar o pagamento das encomendas, através de uma transferência direta aos lojistas, por um dos seguintes meios:

  1. MB WAY (contacto telefónico disponibilizado pelo comerciante)
  2. Transferência bancária direta (via IBAN)
  3. SPIN (nova ferramenta de pagamento disponibilizada pelo Banco de Portugal)

No momento da disponibilização dos dados para pagamento, no processo de checkout da encomenda, é disponibilizada uma referência que deve ser introduzida, no(s) comprovativo(s) do(s) método(s) utilizado(s), de forma a facilitar a conferência por parte do comerciante.

É também permitida a compra de produtos com o pagamento a ser efetuado em loja física, diretamente ao(s) comerciante(s).

Do product prices include taxes and duties?

Yes, the price shown on the product page already includes all applicable taxes and fees. Shipping costs are not included in the price.

How can I clarify questions about my products?

Customers can clarify questions about products using the ‘Ask the seller’ feature available on the product page.***

What are the conditions for returning products?

Consumers must bear the costs of returning products that are not non-compliant. Please refer to the return conditions on your seller page.

Who provides the product warranty?

The warranty for Marketplace products is the responsibility of the sellers, who must comply with Portuguese law.

What are the product warranty conditions?

Sellers are obliged to guarantee what is stipulated by law for each type of product.

How is the refund made in the event of a product return?

The refund will be made using the same payment method used for the purchase, after confirmation by the seller that the returned product has been received.
